ENGAGING COMMUNITIES:

Student volunteers (VOFF's - Volunteers at FF) give their time to help improve communities.

FF's KOMALFA group also works in collaboration with the Rotary Clubs of the country to fight against illiteracy.

To bring about this program FF has trained several hundred young volunteers who proceeded to teach thousands of Haitians throughout the country how to read and write.

COMMUNITY GATHERINGS:

FF forms an integral part of the community.  The KOMJKT division of FF brings youngpeople from all walks of life together to think about solutions to the problems they have identified. Trains them to search and find opportunities and express their views about the environment in which they live. It also guides them to continue their studies, encouraging them to be an active member of society i.e. actively helping to create the Haiti that they would like to live in. University education in Haiti can take, on average, 7-10 years to complete.

FF ensures that all those they train including the volunteers are able to finish a university degree within the standard four years.

Another chapter of FF is KOMRSL, which organises monthly historic meetings where scientists, older men, agriculturists, mechanics, literates and illiterate can meet each other and exchange their take on the history of the country. The youth get to practice how to undertake research and to develop as well as make presentations of their viewpoints on different topics with  a historic curator.
